EAST LIVERPOOL - Kenneth E. "Kenny" Cowdery Sr., 65, of East Liverpool, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born May 6, 1947, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Rhea Douglass.
Kenny was employed for over 30 years as a press operator for New Castle Refractories, before retiring in 2010. He was a member of the VFW Post 66 and he attended the Avondale Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer.

Kenny was preceded in death on May 23, 2010, by his wife, Donna Mae (McElhaney) Cowdery, whom he married June 29, 1967.
Survivors include one daughter: Jodi Cowdery and her companion Megan Buchanan of East Liverpool; one son: Kenneth Cowdery Jr. and his wife Mandy of East Liverpool; two sisters: Linda Morris of Toronto and Melissa Beaver of East Liverpool; three brothers: Richard Douglass of Salem, Bill Douglass of East Liverpool, and Kevin Douglass of East Liverpool; one sister-in-law: Linda Loy and her companion Mark Morgan of East Liverpool; and two brothers-in-law: Dave McElhaney and his wife Martha of East Liverpool, and Frank McElhaney of East Liverpool. Also surviving are three granddaughters: Brittney, Kennedy, and Mackenzie; one grandson: Jacob; and two great-grandchildren: Glenn and Kendyl.
In addition to his mother and wife, Kenny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Freda Cowdery, who raised him.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Weyand of the church officiating.
Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St. in Wellsville.
