Jack C. Bonner, 85
EAST LIVERPOOL-Jack C. Bonner, 85 of East Liverpool passed away on Tuesday Jan. 8, 2013 at East Liverpool City Hospital. He had been in failing health since May.
A son of the late Clarence C. and Mildred P. Dailey Bonner, Jack was born on Dec. 15, 1927 in East Liverpool.
Jack retired in 1988 from the East Liverpool Health Department where he served as the Health Commissioner of the East Liverpool City Health District from 1965 to 1988. In addition Jack was known as a master carpenter and played guitar with several bands in the tri-state area.
A member of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ, Jack attended East Liverpool Schools and was a veteran of the US Army.
Jack leaves his loving and devoted wife, Helen Wright Bonner who he married on Dec. 29, 1951.
His surviving children include his daughter, Sheila Humphrey and husband Ollie of East Liverpool and their children and granddaughter, Kerry (Shad) Peterson and their daughter, Hollie, and Oliver (Lauren) Humphrey; his son, Jack A. Bonner and wife Polly of East Liverpool, their children and grandchildren, Mandi (Tom) Warrick and their children, Sierra, Tommy and Dakota, and Jack D. Bonner and fiancee Marysa Rapuano; his daughter, Sherry Dyke and husband Gary of East Palestine and their children and grandchildren, Brenda (Rube) Ginder, Mitchell (Kristen) Dyke their children Olivia, and Owen, and Mimi (Chris) Herman; and his sisters, Shirley Little of East Liverpool, and Sondra Greathouse and husband Robert of Wellsville.
Evangelist Will Montgomery of the church will conduct private family services at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in East Liverpool.
