Responding to a theft complaint from Walmart on Friday, officers used information from a vehicle and security video to locate suspect Benjamin Persohn at his stated residence on Stewart Road. They arrived to find the suspected vehicle parked in the driveway, according to reports. The vehicle's owner, Amanda Wright, denied that Persohn was in the residence, although she said he sometimes visits. When asked to search the residence, Wright said she would rather officers didn't, because of two children inside. She was advised that the suspect ran from Walmart carrying a smaller child and that she shouldn't lie. Wright gave permission to search, but officers reported finding him standing in a bathroom. He was taken into custody on outstanding warrants, and Wright was charged with obstructing official business. A family member took charge of the children, and Wright was taken into custody.
