EAST LIVERPOOL - Norene Kay Durbin, 63, of Gaddes Street, passed away at 5 p.m. Sunday evening, Jan. 6, 2013, at the home of her son, in the presence of her devoted family. "Sis," as she was known, had been ill for three years.
She was born in Follansbee, W.Va., on Sept. 16, 1949, a daughter of Carson Shreve of Calcutta, and the late Garnet Shreve, who passed away in 2002.
Sis had lived most her life in Arizona, graduating from Beaver Local High School in 1967. She lovingly cared for her family, and always did her best to be a help to others, no matter what was needed.

She had last worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart, from 2000 until 2010, when she became ill.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her mother, was her longtime companion, Thomas Durbin, who died in November 2011.
Surviving her are her three sons: Timothy A. Shreve, John G. Shreve and Steven Michael Adams, all of East Liverpool. Five grandchildren, Stephen, Zane, Justin, Zechiriaha and Chase, also survive and will miss their "Gram." There are three surviving sisters as well, Rosemary Maxwell of New Cumberland, Irene Shreve of LaCroft, and Charlene Hendrixson and her husband, David, of Columbus, and many nieces and nephews.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home with Will Montgomery officiating. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sis will be laid to rest at Calcutta United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
