WELLSVILLE - The Committee to Save Immaculate Conception Church will hold its weekly prayer service at 3:30 p.m. today at The First United Methodist Church, 5th and Main Street. All former parishioners are invited to attend.

TORONTO - The First Baptist Church of Toronto will host The Ohio Valley Missionary Union 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Robert Harris, host. President Sis. Shannon Peachey.

GLENMOOR - The Glenmoor American Legion is having breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday. The cost is $4 or $4.50 carryout.

WELLSVILLE - The Wellsville Alumni Activities Committee will meet 7 p.m. Monday at the Alumni Center. Any Alumni is welcome to attend.

WEIRTON - A National Rifle Association Basic Pistol safety course has been scheduled at the Hancock County Sportsmans Association in Weirton.

The 12-hour course will be presented in two parts one four hour session from 6-10 p.m. Friday, Jan 18 and continuing into an eight hour session at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

Fully certified NRA firearms instructors will present this 12 hour course. The class includes lectures, as well as live firing of handguns. This is a nationally accredited course, which is approved by multiple states including West Virginia and Ohio as a requirement prior to applying for a concealed weapons carry permit. Pre-registration is required due to the limitation of class size, to ensure adequate live firing experience.

MIDLAND, Pa. Adults interested in playing in a jazz ensemble or learning to play steel drums can do so beginning in early January in new programs offered by Henry Mancini Arts Academy at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.

High school students must be at least 15 to participate.

The jazz ensemble is a group, not a class, while the steel drum group is structured as a class.

The jazz ensemble is to meet from 6-7 p.m. Mondays in Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center's state of the art Alumni Hall, beginning on Jan. 14. The steel drum class will meet from 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 15, also in Alumni Hall.
