EAST LIVERPOOL - Donna J. Hancock of Wellsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 85.
Born in Irondale on Feb. 25, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Raymond and Mary Matilda Withroe Russell. She worked at the former Ferro Company and previously worked at the former Shell Heating in East Liverpool.
She attended the Campground Community Church and was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Community Choir, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 47 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 374 Ladies Auxiliary.
Her husband, Donald S. Hancock, died July 1, 1994. The couple married July 19, 1947.
A daughter survives, Patricia Hillyer, and her husband Jerry, of East Liverpool; along with two sons, Donald S. Hancock Jr., and his wife Sharon, of Las Vegas, and Steven Hancock, and his wife Gwen, of Lancaster, Pa.
There are 10 grandchildren: Jerry, James and Jason Hillyer, Wayne, David and Greg Hancock, Kris Stoops, Jenna Farmer, Steven Hancock and Rachel Binkley; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition, two sisters survive, Mary "Sis" White of San Diego, and Evelyn Householder, and her husband Dick, of Hammondsville; and a brother, Rodney Russell, and his wife Gertrude of Irondale.
Friends may visit Sunday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Rev. Tom Adkins of the church will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
There will be an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
