EAST LIVERPOOL - Frank S. Zachodni Sr., 82 of East Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in the comfort of his home and with his loving family present.
Born in Monaca, Pa., on Feb. 2, 1930, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary Hormochi Zachodni.
A graduate of the former Monaca High School and a member of the Glenmoor American Legion, Frank was a retired Brakeman on the railroad in the former Crucible Steel Mill in Midland.
He was a proud veteran of the US Navy during the Korean conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Zachodni; and two sisters, Eleanor O'Neill, and Mary Pointek.
He is survived by his wife Queennette (Sam) Brehm Zachodni at home; his sons, John (Linda) Zachodni of Ellwood City, Pa., Frank (Michelle) Zachodni Jr. of Wheeling, Michael (Sandy) Zachodni of New Brighton, and Andrew (Becky) Zachodni of Industry; his daughters, Nancy (Larry) Krasicki of Industry, Debbie (Jim) Shaner of Ohioville, and Patty (Jim) Rexroad of Ohioville; his brother, Mike Zachodni of San Francisco, Calif.; and two sisters, Nancy Kolmann of Beaver, Pa., and Catherine Weihause of Ellwood City.
Fourteen grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.
Pastor Cody Berry of the Destiny House will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester. The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
