This line of police cruisers responded to an accident New Year’s Eve following an accident on state Route 170 in Calcutta involving a local police officer. According to St. Clair Township police, Liverpool Township acting Chief Justin Wright, 31, was driving a cruiser west when he struck the rear of a vehicle driven by James M. Dawson, 45, Monticello Place, who had stopped in traffic at Dresden Avenue. Wright reported he thought Dawson was moving and he proceeded forward. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
