Snow heading our way

December 26, 2012
Review Staff Reports , The Review

Storm warnings came out early.

While kids woke Christmas morning to thoughts of Jesus, Santa and gifts, some adults woke to thoughts of the day after Christmas.

The first words one working man heard on the radio were of the pending snow. Another storm of the century, perhaps.

Snow is expected to start this morning, with 8-12 inches predicted in a 24-hour span. High winds will add to the merriment.

The front is coming off Lake Erie, which means a bunch of snow in the snow belt counties of Geauga, Ashtabula and Trumbull in Ohio and Crawford and Mercer in Pennsylvania.

Farther south, Columbiana County often misses the brunt of bit snows. If a foot falls in northern Trumbull, we often just see a few inches. But not always.

But that's the weather. No use grousing about it. Just deal with it.

It would be nice to stay snuggled up at home, close to the fire, the fridge and ESPN.

But that will not include the state, county and township snowplow drivers, the highway patrol, sheriff's deputies and local cops.

It also won't include many other people who have to get to work no matter what.

Even people who put together the daily newspaper, and those who deliver it. That's the deal, 7/12/365, or 366 as is the case in 2012.

See you on the road. Hopefully, not in a ditch.
