Tipton scored 10 points in Bethany win

BETHANY - Wellsville graduate Mikyla Tipton netted 10 points to help lead the Bethany womne's basketball team to a 57-34 victory over Geneva Wednesday night at Nutting Gymnasium. Bethany defeated Geneva, 75-62, in the men's game. For Geneva, Beaver Local graduate Nick?Miller scored three points.

Bowling league results announced

EAST LIVREPOOL - Bowling Buddies (33.5-14.5) leads the standings of the Walnut Lanes Ladies Bowling League. Ridge Runners (30.5-17.5) is in second place, Pin Ups and Flaming Balls (26-22) are tied for third and Alley Angels (24-24) is fifth. Spark's Auto Care (21.5-26.5) and Strikers (19.5-28.5) round out the rankings. Individually, Deb Radeschi bowled a high game of 171 with a series of 194, Nancy Paulauskas bowled a high game of 169 with a series of 473 and Barb?Bibbee bowled a high game of 156 with a series of 451. Also, Marliyn walker bowled a 80, Barb Arthur bowled a 167 and Carol?Pyles bowled a 166.

Oak Glen holding alumni games

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen Girls and Boys Basketball Boosters will be holding fundraiser alumni games for both women and men Jan. 5 at Oak Glen High School. Concealed carry pistol class being held

LISBON - The Columbiana County Fish & Game Club will be offering a two-day concealed carry pistol class from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 20 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 22 at their indoor range on Middle Beaver Rd. in Lisbon. EL Blue & White Touchdown Club meeting

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool Blue & White Touchdown Club will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dairy Queen. Parents for the 2013 season are encouraged to attend. There are several board positions open.

Middle Beaver Girls Softball Association

Track officials meeting being held Feb. 6

AUSTINTOWN - The Greater Youngstwon?Track?Officials Association will hold a mandatory state rules meeting for all coaches and officials at 6 p.m. Feb. 6 and in the Austintown Fitch Auditorium. All coaches and officials must participate in one state rules meeting per year.

Martins Ferry youth b-ball tourney being held

MARTINS FERRY - The Martins Ferry Basketball Parents will once again be sponsoring a youth basketball shootout the weekend of March 1-3, 2013 for 5th and 6th grade boys and girls teams. All teams will be guaranteed three games, with a possibility of a fourth game depending on the number of teams. The entry fee will be $75. Games will be held at Martins Ferry High School with onsite parking and concessions available.
