Harley D. Wright, 19, Arner Road, Chester, W.Va., was charged with theft Tuesday after a Giant Eagle loss prevention officer reported seeing him concealing health and beauty aids into the front of his pants. When searching his wallet, police officers reported finding a straw and a prescription pill. Wright's mother was waiting in the parking lot for him and was asked if he had used drugs in the past, according to reports. Officers said she advised her son had recently been released from the hospital following his third overdose. The straw was to be sent for testing.
Officers arrested William Grauel, no age or address listed, for OVI, left of center and open container after he was reportedly seen driving erratically while southbound on state Route 11 by Liverpool Township Fire Chief Mike Bahen. Bahen called police and reported the driver was "all over the road" before it turned and ended up on St. Clair Avenue where it was stopped by township officers, who also said he crossed the center line.
Police received a call about a person in a vehicle prowling around behind the storage units behind McKinney Furniture. The caller said the same vehicle, with a different driver, had been there the previous night.
