Nathan L. Smith, 51

WELLSVILLE-Nathan L. Smith, age 51, of Wellsville died suddenly at his home on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. The son of Mary Smith of Richmond, Ohio and the late Clinton D. Smith, Nathan was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on Jan. 12, 1961 and lived his entire life in this area. Working at Homer Laughlin China Co. as a Press Operator, he last worked on Friday.

He was a graduate of Southern Local High School, Class of 1979 and a veteran serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 70, the V.F.W. Post 5647 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles 772 all of Wellsville.

In addition to his mother, Nathan is survived by his significant other: Brenda Chase of Wellsville; one sister: Tina Johnson and her husband, Jay of Cedar Park, Texas and a niece: Brandy Johnson also of Cedar Park, Texas as well as his step children and their children.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Smith Jr.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes with Rev. Paul Sturm officiating.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Family and friends will gather at the V.F.W. in Wellsville following the Memorial Service for food and fellowship.
