Columbiana County Sheriff Reports 12-1

Tom Colella, Hawkins Road, New Waterford, reported at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday he has a drum behind his shop where he places used electric motors to be recycled. Tuesday morning he found someone had taken some of the motors and eight to 10 brake rotors which had been sitting out.

A single-vehicle crash was reported on state Route 7 north of Rogers at 8:14 a.m. Saturday. Kristen Sutton, Birch Road, East Liverpool, reported she had been northbound and another vehicle going southbound swerved to miss a deer going into her lane. Sutton swerved and slid on ice, sending her into the ditch, up an embankment and overturning her vehicle onto the roof. She was not injured.

Randy Murphy, Glasgow Road, Wellsville, reported at 5:19 p.m. Monday his neighbor has been drinking and shooting his firearms onto his property. Murphy told deputies when he is in the woods hunting he has heard bullets coming close to him and he is worried. Deputies spoke to the neighbor, who claimed he was shooting safely on his own property and expressed negative opinions about his neighbors.

Allan Fusetti, Peppercorn Drive, reported at 4:15 p.m. Monday he has been receiving harassing hang-up calls at his home, office and on his cell phone.

Robert Auer, Church Hill Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:19 p.m. Monday a suspicious vehicle in the area. Deputies spoke to the people in the vehicle as well as the owners of the property the vehicle was sitting on and found they had permission to be there.

Darlene Randolph, Desellem Road, Lisbon, reported at 2:13 p.m. Wednesday her husband came home Tuesday and found the sliding glass door slightly ajar and the deadbolt in the locked position. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Mike Hunter, Taylor Road, Negley, reported at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday his neighbor, Deborah Donley, had called him and told him someone was on her property. He grabbed his shotgun and went to see who was there. When he crested the top of the hill where the prowler was supposed to be, he reportedly saw someone raise his arm and fire a shot at him. Hunter hit the ground and fired his own shot into the air. The person ran quickly into the woods. Hunter said he then heard the neighbors begin to yell and shot guns in the distance also. Donley told deputies she had heard her dogs barking outside and saw a person with a flashlight messing around her old vehicle so she called Hunter.

Dawn McVay, Bacon Avenue, East Palestine, reported at 11:31 p.m. Tuesday her ex-husband was in the driveway refusing to leave. Deputies spoke to Richard May alerting him he is not welcome there. He agreed to leave.

Thomas Vandling, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 7:54 p.m. Tuesday his brother hit him two weeks ago while he was in the driveway. Additionally, his brother reportedly pushed him onto a bed on Tuesday. Vandling said he has eviction papers to serve on his brother, but has not started the process. Donald Vandling told deputies his brother came into his room and started going through his personal items.

Tom LaVogue, Lisbon Canfield Road, Leetonia, reported at 4 p.m. Tuesday his adult daughter has his wife's car and refuses to return it. Deputies called the daughter and explained if the car is in her mother's name, she needed to return it.

Trisha Semen, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday her child's father had been there causing problems. She asked him to leave and when he went outside, she locked the door. The man has no car and has been visiting from Cleveland. Deputies checked the area, but did not find him.

Leslie Davis, East Palestine, reported at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday she moved out of her boyfriend's house in East Palestine and then a man she knows came to her new home and sat in the driveway for a while. She wanted information on how to obtain a protection order.

The pop machine at the front of the One Stop on state Route 9, Hanoverton, was vandalized overnight, Tiffany Altman reported Thursday morning.

Kristen E. Sutton, 23, Birch Road, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 Saturday when her vehicle slid on ice, going into a ditch, up an embankment and overturning.

Jessica Wiley, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported she and a friend saw a flash and heard what sounded like a gunshot in the yard between the neighbor's garage. Deputies spoke to the neighbors and checked a gun in the home, which had not been fired.
