Area Seniors

EAST LIVERPOOL - After an absence of three weeks, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, The Area Seniors held a weekly meeting on Nov. 29th. President Ruth Wynn called for a moment of silent prayer for Earl Smith, a long time member and friend. President Wynn proceeded to read a short tribute to his life. The meeting continued with Mary Lou Archaragi reading scripture and that led us into the Lord's Prayer, Pledge Of Allegiance and the singing of "America".

Recording Secretary JoAnn Fickes called the officers roll and read the minutes of the Nov. 8th. meeting. Our Treasurer Gail Grimm brought us up to date on our club funds, and reported five new bills have been submitted for payment. Motion to pay bills was made by Jean Tomlison and Margaret Brown. It was unanimously passed.

Club Supervisor Harriet Slagle advised last luncheon carried in will be Dec.6th. Trustees Dale and Vi Valentine will host the next weeks lunch, and it will be the last one delivered by members this year. We would like to thank everyone that has been a host for the lunches. Slagle also reminded everyone they must be signed up for the Christmas party on Dec. 15th. There will be a choice of two kinds of meat and two kinds of vegetables.

Hospitality Chairman Betty Davis informed us 26 members present at today's meeting. Two birthdays were celebrated this week by Thelma Hupp and Charlie Mae Scott. Members sang, "Everybody Has A Birthday". Hupp's Daughter very thoughtfully donated a birthday cake for all members to enjoy. A lovely bouquet of crimson carnations was won by our 2nd Vice President Jean Tomlison. The lucky recipient of the 50/50 was Madeylon Starkey.

Bringing us into story time Grimm Wynn and Fickes read a couple of funny stories. Sandy Brock led us with a different version of "The Twelve Days Of Christmas", and this brought us into closing time.

Motion to close was made by Sandy Brock and it was seconded by Kay Drago. Grimm led us with the singing of The Evening Prayer and made the closing prayer. The meeting adjourned for lunch and sandwiches.
