A woman charged with vehicular homicide after a 2011 car crash appeared Thursday before Judge Melissa Byers Emmerling in Municipal Court.

April L. Guy, aka Busic, pleaded no contest to vehicle manslaughter and was fined $500, sentenced to 90 jail days and had her license suspended one year. She also was fined $65 for failure to control and was given a total of 74 hours of community service in lieu of her fines.

Guy was charged by the Ohio State Highway Patrol after a May 19, 2011 accident on U.S. Route 30 that killed Jerry S. Frame, 61, Chester, W.Va.

Also in court Thursday, Zachary C. Lyons, 19, Walnut Street, was fined $150, sentenced to 30 days, 25 suspended, and placed on probation two years for obstructing official business.

Diane K. Wells, 47, Ohio River Boulevard, Chester, W.Va., was fined $200, sentenced to 180 days, 173 suspended, had his license suspended 180 days and was placed on probation two years for possession of drug abuse instruments. She was fined $65 for failure to control.

Jeremy R. Cranston, 24, West Sixth Street, was fined $100, sentenced to 90 days, 83 suspended and placed on probation two years for criminal damaging.

Christopher R. Gamble, 35, Harvey Avenue, was sentenced to 15 jail days for obstructing official business.

Nathaniel D. Carter, 30, St. Clair Avenue, was fined $150, sentenced to 9 0days, 83 suspended, and placed on probation two years for theft.

A theft charge was amended to attempted theft against Venlinda K. Cunningham, 26, Laurel Lane, who was fined $150, sentenced to 30 days, 21 suspended, and placed on probation two years.

Cory D. Miller, 29, Lisbon Street, was fined $150, sentenced to 90 days, 83 suspended and placed on probation two years for obstructing official business. For driving under suspension, he was fined $150, while a charge of no turn signal was dismissed.

Kelly M. Mobley, 34, no address, was sentenced to 180 days, 135 suspended, and placed on probation two years, each, on two counts of theft and an assault charge.

A domestic violence charge was amended to disorderly conduct against Shawn M. Peterson, 27, Carmel-Achor Road, Rogers, who was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days, suspended.

A jury trial was scheduled Jan. 17 for John R. Chan, Ogden Street, charged with three counts of driving under suspension, obstructing official business, a traffic device violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt and improper passing. One a fourth count of driving under suspension, he had a pretrial set Jan. 10.

Pretrials were scheduled for James Keyes, 26, Columbus, charged with obstructing official business, Dec. 19; Angel Bragg Hartley, 39, no address, six counts of passing bad checks, Dec. 27; and Rowdy J. Fickes, 47, Riley Avenue, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, Dec. 6.

Jason W. Barnes, 39, Broadway, Wellsville, was bound over to county Common Pleas Court on a charge of aggravated burglary-inflicting harm, with $75,000 cash/surety bond continued. He was ordered to have no contact with Connie Skinner.
