SALINEVILLE - William F. Kempf, 69, of McGavern Road, died Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 28, 2012, at his home with his family around him.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1942, in Salineville, a son of the late Oscar and Mary Yealey Kempf.
William lived all his life in the Salineville area and worked as a potter at Homer Laughlin until his retirement. He was a member of the Salineville Church of Christ. He also loved NASCAR, particularly Jeff Gordon.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn Simpson Kempf at home; two sons, Cory (Kim) Kempf of Calcutta, Keven Kempf of Salineville; one daughter Kendra (Frank Lafftery) Good of Salineville; one brother, John Kempf of Salineville; one sister, Carolyn (Don) Sprouse of Warren; eight grandchildren, Ron Good, Mason Lafferty, and Jessica Lafferty all of Salineville, Christina Rawlings of Wellsville, Andrea Rawlings of Calcutta, Frank Lafferty and Justin Lafferty of Georgia and McKayla Lafferty of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Davison and Margaret Wright.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville with Fred O. May officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Family and friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville.
