Lawrence J. Householder, 77

WELLSVILLE - Lawrence J. Householder 77, of Wellsville, died at the Medical Center in Beaver, Pa., on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, following a brief illness. He was born in Wellsville on July 4, 1935, and was a son of Ruth (Maggard) Householder of Wellsville and the late Lawrence B. Householder Ruth (Maggard) Householder.

Living his entire life in this area, he worked at the former Crucible Steel as a General Foreman in the Heat Treat Dept. for 30 years before his retirement in 1982. Following his retirement for 28 years he was the owner of Householders Grocery in Wellsville. Mr. Householder was a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by one son: Tim Householder and his wife Lori of Wellsville; one daughter: Robin Gane and her husband Tim of Wellsville; one brother: Paul Householder and his wife Marilyn of Wellsville; two sisters: Verna Hamilton and Betsy Williams and her husband Mark all of Wellsville; as well as four grandchildren: Lindsey Householder, Shelbie Householder, Jenna Stoddard and her husband Dennis and Rachel Vallera; and one great grandchild: Nickolias Stoddard.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: Carl Householder.

Private family services were held on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, with the Rev. Deacon Barbara Fischer of Christ the King Church in Columbiana as officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
