Bowling league results announced

EAST LIVERPOOL - Ridge Runners (23.5-12.5) leads the standings of the Walnut Lanes Ladies Bowling League as of Thursday. Bowling Buddies (22.5-13.5), Pin Ups (21-15) and Flaming Balls (19-17) are the next three teams in the standings. The final teams are Spark's Auto Care (18.5-17.5), Alley Angels (17-19) and Strikers (13.5-22.5). Deb Radeschi bowled a high game of 186 with a series of 491, Deb?Barnes bowled a high game of 168 with a series of 465 and Marilyn Walker bowled a high game of 175 with a series of 443.

BL OHSAA mandatory meeting Wednesday

CALCUTTA - The Beaver?Local OHSAA mandatory meeting for all middle school and high school athletes, parents and coaches will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the high school auditorium.

Potter Prime Time scheduled for Nov. 21

EAST LIVERPOOL - Potter Prime Time is slated Nov. 21 at Potter Fieldhouse. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. East Liverpool basketball teams in grades 7-12 (boys and girls) as well coaches and cheerleaders will be introduced. The Alumni Basketball Game also returns. Participants must be an ELHS graduate who played varsity boys basketball. Cost to participate is $10 and includes a t-shirt. Email for further information on participating.

Potters' selling boys' basketball tickets

EAST LIVERPOOL - Tickets for the East Liverpool boys' basketball 2012-2013 season will be on sale from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Fieldhouse ticket office through Friday and during Potter Primetime on Nov. 21. The cost of the package is $35 if it is purchased on one of these dates.

Martins Ferry youth b-ball tourney being held

MARTINS FERRY - The Martins Ferry Basketball Parents will once again be sponsoring a youth basketball shootout the weekend of March 1-3, 2013 for 5th and 6th grade boys and girls teams. All teams will be guaranteed three games, with a possibility of a fourth game depending on the number of teams. The entry fee will be $75. Games will be held at Martins Ferry High School with onsite parking and concessions available. Boxing back at MTR on Dec. 1

CHESTER - Former world champ Paul "The Pittsburgh Kid" Spadafora (46-0-1, 19KOs) will headline a boxing card at The Harv at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort on Dec. 1. The event is presented by 8-time world champ Roy Jones Jr. in association with TNT Promotions. In the co-feature is Youngstown's Jake "The Bull" Giuriceo (16-1-1, 3KOs). Basketball skill clinic being held today

WHEELING - The Cancer Research Classic is a holiday high school basketball tournament played in Wheeling that raises money for cancer research. It's becoming one of the bigger events of its kind in the country. ESPN will again be carrying some of the games on national TV. The Classic is offering a skill development clinic for middle and high school coaches, players, parents and athletic directors today designed to help educate them on skill development for college basketball. The clinic is free for OVAC schools (athletic directors, coaches, etc.), athletes, and families. Particular topics include: concepts of learning & training necessary physical skills, mental toughness, college coaches expectations, player expectations, transition to college basketball, recruitment insight and NCAA academic requirements. Volleyball Club holding tryouts

WARREN - The East Ohio Volleyball?Club is holding tryouts Sunday at the Warren YMCA. Dodgeball tournament to be held

EAST LIVERPOOL - Team Mojo Foundation will hold Black Friday Dodgeball, a single elimination tournament, at 4 p.m. Nov. 23. The tournament is being hosted by the Downtown East Liverpool YMCA.
