CHESTER - The Kiwanis Club will meet 5:30 p.m. today at the Peachtree Inn of Orchards at Foxcrest. Newly installed officers are President, Marsha Nurmi, Vice President, Cathy Wilson and Secy/Treasurer, James Reed.

CHESTER - Plans are underway for the 2012 Hometown Christmas Parade. This year's theme is "A Country Christmas".

The parade will begin 2 p.m. Dec. 1. Line up will be at 1 p.m. at the corner of Third St. and Virginia Ave.

If anyone is interested in participating, please contact Sandi Parkins at 304-387-2820, ext. 7 to request a registration form.

Other activities planned for the day will be Pictures with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon, at City Hall; the craft show sponsored by The American Legion and Kid's Bingo sponsored by the Fire Department.

WELLSVILLE - The Carnegie Public Library is hosting a Christmas Cookie Contest.

Rules and entry forms can be picked up at the circulation desk. All entry forms must be submitted to the Library by 6 p.m. Nov. 28. Prizes will be awarded at the Christmas Open House 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. Adult Categories: best decorated, best tasting and best chocolate. Children's Categories: yummiest, prettiest and most chocolaty.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Disabled American Veterans, John W. Covert Chapter 47, and Auxiliary will have a meeting 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapter Home, on Broadway.

WELLSVILLE - The Elks 1040 is having fish from 4:30-8 p.m. Friday.

CALCUTTA - The Lord's Table Free Lunch and Food Pantry hosted by Long's Run Presbyterian Church will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday

The menu includes creamed turkey over biscuits, mashed potatoes, corn and pumpkin pie. Photo ID and proof of residency required for food pantry participants.

WELLSVILLE - The First Christian Church, Main Street, Bread of Life Outreach will be giving away free bread to those in need from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday.

IRONDALE - The United Methodist Church is having a Pumpkin/Apple Fest from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The menu includes cabbage rolls, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, drink and dessert, all by donation and carry-out is available.

EAST LIVERPOOL -The J&L Cold Strip Retirees will meet for breakfast 9 a.m. Thursday at Hoge's Restaurant. All retirees and friends are welcome.

WELLSVILLE - The Sons Of Italy will have a combined meeting of all officers and social members 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

EAST LIVERPOOL - Ohio Valley Home Health Services will host an Alzheimer's Educational Dinner 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, at the Peter Metrovich Community Center in the St. Clair Township Administration Building, Pugh Road in Calcutta.

The program, following the dinner, will be presented by the Greater East Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and will cover the basics of memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
