EAST LIVERPOOL - A meeting of The Area Seniors was held on Nov. 8th. at St. Stephens Church. President Ruth Wynn opened the meeting by calling on Margaret Brown for a scripture reading. The meeting followed with the usual opening of "The Lord's Prayer", salute to the flag and the singing of two verses of "America".
The officers roll call and the minutes of the Nov. 1st. meeting was given by Recording Secretary JoAnn Fickes. The weekly accounting of club funds was made by Treasurer Gail Grimm, and she advised no new bills were submitted this week.
Club Supervisor Harriet Slagle reminded everyone the Thanksgiving Dinner for members will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 15th. Slagle advised 35 meals have been ordered and will be catered by Brickers.
It has been reported to us that Helen Vishak is recovering from a nasty fall. Cards and prayers are being sent,with hopes of a quick recovery.
Hospitality Chairman Betty Davis reported eight members and one guest at the meeting. June McCoy was the lucky winner of the 50/50. Members were all asked to consider an officers position as of January. Some were mentioned tentatively but the list will be read for two more times, before they are swore into office.
Story time brought out some very funny stories from JoAnn Fickes and June Mullen. Ending our story time our guest Theresa Di Agosta added a cute story.
Motion to close was made by Thelma Hupp and June Mullen. The next meeting will be Nov.29th. Next week Nov.15th. will be our Thanksgiving Dinner, and no meeting will be held, and on Nov. 22 will be Thanksgiving Day.
The meeting was brought to a close with "The Evening Prayer" and the closing prayer was made by Margaret Brown. The meeting adjourned for lunch and games. Beverly Bolton gets the thanks this week for being our hostess and bringing all the food.
