A Lisbon Street man was charged Thursday morning with theft after employees at Hall China reported he was taking scrap from a closed factory. Officers reported finding Shane A. Kitzmiller, 36, with metal piping in his truck, reportedly taken from the fenced area behind the former Ferro Corp. building.
While backing a van Wednesday from a parking space at the Community Animal Clinic on Fisher Avenue, Darryl L. McClellan, 68, Grant Street, reportedly failed to see Veronica R. Corwin, 29, Blackmore Street, sitting on a wooden curb, waiting for the school bus. The bumper on the van, owned by Hancock County Animal Shelter, struck Corwin in the back, according to reports. Corwin's husband transported her to East Liverpool City Hospital, police reported.
While backing on Fairmont Street, a truck driven by Timothy M. Lowrie, 22, Northfield, reportedly struck a shed owned by James Joy. The truck was owned by American Shipping & Packing out of Akron.
