EL Area Seniors

EAST LIVERPOOL - Thursday, Nov. 1st. The EL Area Seniors met with President Ruth Wynn presiding. President Wynn brought the meeting to order as she called on JoAnn Fickes for scripture reading. The meeting continued with "The Lords Prayer", Pledge of Allegiance and members sang America.

Recording Secretary Fickes made the officers roll call and read the minutes of the Oct. 25th. meeting. Treasurer Gail Grimm made the weekly account of club funds and one new bill was submitted. Motion to pay bills was made by June Mullen and Margaret Brown. The motion was passed unanimously. Grimm read a card of thanks from Hospice of the Valley for a monetary contribution in honor of Mae G.Tilton Varian.

Club Supervisor Harriet Slagle advised 35 members are signed up for the Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 15th. It will be a full meal catered by Brickers.We want to thank Slagle for making all of the arrangements as well as all the other events she has planned.

A lovely bouquet of rusty red carnations and baby's breath was won by Virginia Elsman, and Trustee Dale Valentine escorted her around the room while everyone sang Oh You Beautiful Doll. This week's lucky recipient of the 50/50 was Kay Drago.

First Vice President, June Mullen, led us into story time with a couple of funny stories and Slagle followed up with a couple more. President Ruth Wynn called for a motion to close and Margaret Brown and Jean Tomlison answered. Next meeting will be Nov. 8th. The meeting was brought to a close with "The Evening Prayer" and the closing prayer was made by Fickes. Lunch and games followed with Roberta Shovlin as this week's hostess.
