Wellsville Police Reports 11-2

November 2, 2012
The Review

Two men were arrested Saturday during a wedding at the Wellsville Alumni Center when officers were called about several people fighting. The first officer on the scene, Patrolman Luke Skidmore, called for assistance, asking that a Taser be brought, with Patrolmen Jeff Weekley and Brad Elliott responding. They reported finding Matthew Tedeschi, no age or address listed, wearing no shirt and yelling at the first officer that he would "never (expletive) take me." He was advised by Weekley to cease his actions but he reportedly continued yelling and then resisted when they attempted to handcuff him. Skidmore deployed the Taser, striking Tedeschi in the stomach, causing him to go to the ground, where he was handcuffed. At that point, James L. Lawrence, 53, Fifth Street, reportedly began yelling at the officers for their actions and calling them names. Lawrence reportedly grabbed Weekley, resulting in the Taser also being deployed so he could be handcuffed. Tedeschi was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, while Lawrence was charged with persistent disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
