EAST LIVERPOOL - Mr. Tullio Joseph "Joe" Catigani of Calcutta, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86.
Born in East Liverpool, March 11, 1926, he was a son of the late Louis and Delatina Anna L. Dinardo Catigani. He was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1944 and a member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association. A veteran of WWII, he served with the U.S. Army as a rifleman in the 4th Infantry Division, 3rd Army in France and Germany.
A member of the former St. Ann Catholic Church, he worked at Crucible Steel until retiring in 1982. Following his retirement, he worked as a part-time delivery driver at Milligan Hardware. Family was his priority in life, he loved his wife, daughters, granddaughter and great-granddaughters; he was always there for them.

His wife, Mavis Eileen Catigani, died April 30, 1994. The couple married March 9, 1946, in Christ Church in Oxford, England. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Clara Cooper, along with a brother Lewis Catigani.
He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Lynda Doak, and her husband Arthur, of East Liverpool, and Wendy Catigani of Bozeman, Mont.; as well as a granddaughter Amy Doak; and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Mavis Davis.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home. Pastor JoAnn Dota will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct full military honors.
