EAST LIVERPOOL - Betty Louise Tullis, 94, of Calcutta Health Care Center, died at 2:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, of natural causes.
She was born in East Liverpool on Nov. 1, 1917, and lived her entire life here. She was a daughter of the late Herbert A. and Elsie Whitney Means, and her step mother, the late Bessie Bates Means.
Betty was a graduate of East Liverpool High School in 1936, and was a member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association. She was a member of the First Christian Church on College Street where she was a deacon at one time.

During WW II, she was employed at the former Harker Pottery. After which she was a housewife, homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Hap" Tullis on Jan. 3, 1988. They were married on March 14, 1938.
Surviving are her two sons, Larry Tullis, and his wife Phemie, of Hammondsville, and Ronald "Ron" Tullis, and his wife Jan, of Rochester, Mich. There are three grandchildren, Lori Tullis, of Meritt Island, Fla., Susan Walter, and her husband Mike, of Hammondsville, and Marissa Higgins, and her husband Matt, of Michigan. There are also four great-grandchildren, Joston and Lara DaGrava, Katie Sue Walter and Isobel Higgins.
Betty was also preceded by her three sisters, Marcella Means, Thelma Flanigan and Ruth Ann Halter; as well as four brothers, James Means, Harry Hackthorne, Robert Means and Herbert Means.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Saturday, where the family will be present from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with the Rev. Willard Adkins of the church officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
