Saddened by inability to honor

October 21, 2012
The Review

Dear Editor:

My mother passed away 5 years ago. Her birthday would have been in October. She always loved flowers and seasonal decorations.

We would like to decorate her grave site for fall, but we have a problem. Theft is rampant at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

What kind of person would steal flowers and decorations off a grave?

How low can someone descend in our society?

In the past 10 months, we have had almost $200 worth of flowers and decorations taken from her grave. Just recently, I put a fall decoration there and it was gone within 24 hours.

We have complained to the management at CCMP and they agree that theft is a problem there. What does this say about the people of East Liverpool?

Why would anyone steal from a dead person? Is this theft done for a thrill, something to sell at Rogers? Drug money?

We are sad about this continuing problem and our inability to honor our mother at her gravestead.
