EAST LIVERPOOL - The VFW Post 66, Blakely Street, will be serving breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday. Carry-outs available. The cost is $4. The menu includes eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, home fries, sausage gravy, hot cakes, toast, tea or coffee.

GLENMOOR - The American Legion Breakfast will be from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday. The cost is $4 or $4.50 carry-out.

WELLSVILLE - The First Baptist Church, Center Street, will open the Food Pantry from 3-5 p.m. today. Bring identification. Must follow eligibility guidelines. Residents of Columbiana County only. Bring your own bags.

LISBON - Friends of Beaver Creek State Park will hold the last monthly Pancake Breakfast of the season, from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at The Barn in Pioneer Village, Echo Dell Road. The menu includes pancakes, butter and syrup, sausages, juice, coffee and tea. This will be the last day to visit the Trading Post, open from noon to 4 p.m., selling candle holders, cheese slicers and more, made from our Ted B. Appleby Blacksmith; wheat, cornmeal and buckwheat flours ground in our Gastons Mill, Beaver Creek T shirts, ghost books by Alice Whitehill, recipe books, historic games, candies in glass jars, drinks, jewelry, crafts, toys and more.

EAST LIVERPOOL - On Sept. 21, Ghosting 12 Paranormal and Historical Research Team investigated building No. 2 at the Ohio Valley College of Technology. The findings will be revealed at 4 p.m. Saturday at the college. The event includes a historic walking tour of Calcutta. Limit for this event is 45 people. Make reservations today.

The OVCT and GH12P team will be raffling off one OVCT shirt signed by Chris Williams and Amy Bruni from the Syfy hit series "Ghost Hunters" (TAPS). Cost of the raffle ticket is $2 each or three for $5. All proceeds go to the Columbiana County Dog Pound.

Jon Ream, instructor at OVCT, will be hosting a "Bug-Out" night 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at the college for those who are concerned about cell phone and tablet security. Call for reservations.

Both events are free, but donations, which will go to the Columbiana County Dog Pound, will be accepted.

LISBON - The Help Hotline Crisis Center's support group of the Survivors of Suicide, in Columbiana County, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Counseling Center, state Route 154. For more information, call the Help Hotline Crisis Center, Inc., at 330-424-7767.

WELLSVILLE - Elks 1040 will have bingo and burgers from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

CHESTER - The third annual poetry forum, sponsored by the OGMS Culture Club, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Oak Glen Middle School library. The Prose and Poetry of the Civil War will be featured.

Area poetry enthusiasts are encouraged to attend. The program will begin with an open reading, followed by a portrayed appearance by Sarah Ballou, the widow of Civil War Veteran, Sullivan Ballou.

NEW CUMBERLAND - The Hancock County Senior Services is having an Evening Open House from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. The event will feature staff members showing and telling you, your family members and your colleagues a little of what is done at the center for the seniors, age 60 plus, and disabled, age 18 plus. Attire is business casual. Refreshments will be served.

WELLSVILLE - The Southern Ruritan Club, state Route 45, will hold Bingo every Tuesday at the Community Hall. Early Birds 6:30 p.m. and regular games are at 7 p.m. Food and drink. For information call 330-532-1877.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Sharing the Blessings free community lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church on Hill Blvd.

WELLSVILLE - The Chamber of Commerce is having a luncheon at noon Thursday at Tonda's Place. The guest speaker will be Christine Conner, Adult Program Coordinator for the Carnegie Public Library. The luncheon on Nov. 15 will also be at Tonda's Place.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Broken Branch Support Group for parents and grandparents who have experienced the death of their child will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Dawson Family Center. There is no charge to attend. For information call Judy at 330-385-8896.

SALINEVILLE - The Southern Local Senior High National Honor Society will be hosting a Red Cross Blood drive on from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday in the high school gymnasium. You must have a valid photo ID in order to give blood, be in generally good health and feeling well and weigh at least 110 pounds.

LISBON - The Sandy and Beaver Canal Association will hold its dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Mark's Landing Lakefront Restaurant, Charlton Drive.

LISBON Help Me Grow Playgroup meets from 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Robert Bycroft School.

WEIRTON The Mary H. Weir Public Library is having a free grant writing workshop, entitled Proposal Writing Basics, 23:30 p.m. Wednesday. This workshop is ideal for non-profits and individuals seeking funding. Basics of proposal writing and how to approach a foundation will be taught. No reservation required. EAST LIVERPOOL- The ELHS Alumni Association is sponsoring a luncheon and a tour of the restored Sebring Mansion Wednesday. Valet parking, a welcoming beverage, appetizers, three-course entree and a dessert trio are included with the tour. Cost is $40 per person and proceeds benefit the All-Class reunion.
