Philip Oliver Gibson

INDUSTRY - Philip Oliver Gibson, born in Industry, Nov. 29, 1921, died suddenly on Oct. 15, 2012 at his home. Beloved husband of 56 years to Felicia Colista Gibson, and loving father to Madelyn (Mark) Antonich, Phyllis (Vernon) Elwonger, Philip and Patrick Gibson. Blessed by loving grandchildren Austin, Payton, Savannah and Cheyenne Elwonger, Ross, Reed and Mary Grace Antonich.

Preceded in death by parents Ethel and Frank Gibson, brothers Olen, Frank Gerald and Jack Gibson. Also survived by brothers Donald and Frank Gibson, sisters in law Patty Gibson and Bobbi DiCenson, numerous nieces and nephews.

Philip proudly served in the US Navy for four years, aboard the USS Houston. He was missing in action during his years of service. He was the founder and former owner of Gibson's Flower Shoppe in Midland for forty nine years, served on the Board of Trustees to Beaver Trust Company and Midland Savings and Loan, served as a viewer for Beaver County, past president of the Beaver Valley Floral Association, was an avid golfer and musician. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, compassion and deep love for his family.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Noll Funeral Home, Third Street, Beaver. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Four Mile Church, conducted by his pastor, R. Martin Williams. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
