Dale A. Leoni, 57
CHESTER-Dale A. Leoni, 57, devoted husband and father, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, while on a cruise in the Caribbean with his wife, Dee Crawford-Leoni.
A son of the late Ponzy and Esther D'Aloiso Leoni, Dale was born on Oct. 15, 1954, in Steubenville, where he went on to graduate from Steubenville Big Red High School.

Dale was a respected colleague at the East Liverpool Review, Salem News and Morning Journal newspapers, as well as the Ohio Valley Outdoors magazine, where he served as circulation director for several years.
He retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeant in 1997, after serving his country for 25 years. A member of the elite special operations unit, Army Rangers, he was involved in the invasion of Granada, and spent time on the DMZ in Korea with the 1st Battalion 23 infantry. Dale was a recipient of the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. Also Dale was a member of the VFW Post 6450 in Chester.
He is survived, at home, by his wife, Dee Crawford-Leoni, whom he married May 30, 2012.
He also leaves one son, Travis Leoni of Weirton.
Pastor Steve Cummings will conduct funeral services at 11 a..m. Thursday, Oct.18, 2012, at Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group and the Honor Guard of the West Virginia National Guard will provide full military honors.
The family will be present to receive friends 4-9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at the funeral home.
