EL?Area Seniors
EAST LIVERPOOL - The ELO Area Seniors began the Oct. 11th. meeting with President Wynn asking for a moment of silent prayer for a long time member that is remembered with much love. Leo Tittle passed away on Oct. 10th. President Wynn read a tribute to his life of 97 years. The meeting was called to order and Gail Grimm read scripture, The Lord' Prayer, salute to the flag and the singing of "America" followed.
Secretary JoAnn Fickes called the attendance roll of officers and read the minutes of the last meeting. Gail Grimm proceeded with her weekly report and she informed us a memorial tribute was sent out to Hospice of The Valley in memory of Mae G. Tilton Varian. A monetary contribution will also be sent in Leo Tittle's name to a church in his honor. Grimm also informed us 3 new bills have been submitted. Motion to pay bills was made by Thelma Hupp and Dorothy Poole.
In the absence of our Club Supervisor Harriet Slagle President Wynn asked everyone to attend the last card party of the year on Oct. 15th. All the food has been promised, but we still need prizes and bingo players.
Hospitality Chairman Betty Davis signed in 27 members and 2 guests. Nancy Locke was a first time guest and warmly welcomed. Jean Tomlison celebrated a birthday this week, and members all sang "Everybody Has A Birthday" June Mullen won a lovely bouquet of rose colored carnations. The 50/50 was won by Lois Brown.
Bringing us into story time Grimm read a stirring version of "Foot Prints In The Sand". It was followed by funny stories by President Wynn and 1st Vice President June Mullen.
President Wynn called for a motion to close and the first motion was made by Sandy Brock and second by Mullen The meeting closed with "The Evening Prayer", and Grimm made the closing prayer. The hostess for next meetings lunch will be Madelon Starke. The meeting adjourned for lunch and games.
30 + 30
EAST LIVERPOOL - The 30 plus 30 Seniors met Oct. 9, at St. Aloysius School. Gail Grimm opened the meeting with the scripture reading and President Hupp continued to lead the group in the Our Father, Pledge of Allegiance and singing God Bless America. Recording Secretary, Jo Jordan, made the Roll Call of Officers and read the minutes from the last meeting. She was followed by Treasurer Jean Tomlison who reported our credits and debits from the meeting on Oct. 2, and the present amount in the checking account.
Pres. Hupp read the sick list and the Prayer for the Sick. We then said a silent prayer for Ruth Wynn's brother who passed away from cancer.
We were pleased to have a guest, Ann Prezzia, from Wellsville, and we hope she will become a new member soon.
Jean Tomlison was honored with a song because she had a birthday this month. She also provided lunch for the club which everyone enjoyed, and we all want to thank her for her kind efforts to bring the food for our meeting. Dale Valentine won the 50/50 drawing this week.
Pizza will be served for our lunch next week. Oct, 18. Wynn and Valentine closed the meeting and we had our usual group closing which is singing The Evening Prayer, and saying the Hail Mary and the Table Blessing.
