Jane A. McCaughtry Emmerling, 87
GREENVILLE, N.C. -On Oct. 11, 2012 Jane A. Emmerling joined her beloved husband, Richard Ray Emmerling in eternal rest. Jane was born and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio. She and Dick were high school sweethearts and were married for 42 years prior to his death in 1988.
She began her career as an office manager, became a full time homemaker and mother and returned to the workforce for 25 years serving in roles of increasing responsibility as an administrator in the U.S. Social Security Administration. Jane and her husband retired to Conway, S.C. After Richard's death Jane moved to Cypress Glen Retirement Community in Greenville, N.C. to be closer to family. She was an active volunteer within Cypress Glen and had a special love for her work on the Spiritual Life Committee.
She is survived by her son, Dr. David Emmerling and his wife, Joni Emmerling of Greenville, N.C.; her daughter Deborah Patterson and husband Richard Patterson of Hanover, Ill.; and her son, Dr. Mark Emmerling and his wife, Kris Miller of Bailey's Harbor, Wis. In addition she is survived by her grand children Jeremy Lambros of Ikoma City, Japan, Justin Lambros of San Francisco, Calif., Erin Emmerling of Atlanta, Ga., Dane Emmerling of Chapel Hill, N.C., Elizabeth Emmerling of Hanover, N.H. and Anna Emmerling of Sturgeon Bay, Wis. Three great-grandchildren survive her, Emelia Lambros, Alexander Lambros, and Rio Lambros
A memorial service will be held in the Four Seasons Room at Cypress Glen on Oct. 20, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service.
