October 13, 2012
The Review

A vehicle was reported stopped in the roadway on Bowman Road near Homeworth Road with a man behind the wheel at 2:08 a.m. Sunday. As deputies approached the caller reported the vehicle began to roll slowly westbound. Deputies found the pickup sitting in a yard on Bowman Road with several ruts in the yard and a telephone pole which appeared to have been struck. A man was found lying on the ground next to the driver's side of the vehicle. Adam Blackwood, 23, West Calla Road, Salem, was finally awakened after about eight minutes of trying by deputies. He was charged with OVI and failure to control.

Deputies were called to a home on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 5:56 p.m. Monday where a repossession company driver and a homeowner were arguing. The man claimed to have an order to repossess the vehicle and hooked it to the truck, but the homeowner blocked him in and chained the vehicle to a trailer so it could not be towed. The homeowner claimed to have paid the bill. The paperwork from the repossession driver was not a court order, so deputies told him to disconnect from the vehicle now and obtain a court order in the future.

Allan Neles, Malibu Drive, East Palestine, reported a suspicious vehicle in the field near Grimm Cranes on Brookdale Avenue at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies checked the area, but found no vehicles near the equipment.

Nicole Celano, Carrollton, reported at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday she had been at Rogers Sale last Friday, made a purchase and returned her wallet to her purse. About 15 minutes later she went to make another purchase and discovered her wallet missing. The wallet contained $200 in cash, her license, credit cards, Sam's Club card and nursing I.D.

Robert Kaiser, state Route 45, Leetonia, reported at 11:35 am. Wednesday he saw another man sitting in his vehicle on the Howard's Motel property. The man was evicted from the property about two months earlier.

At the request of the highway patrol, deputies handled a one-vehicle accident on state Route 558 at 1:19 a.m. Thursday. Deputies found the unoccupied Impala crashed into a tree and abandoned off the side of the roadway. Deputies checked the area, but could not locate the driver. The vehicle is owned by Larry Justison II, Alice Street, East Palestine. It was towed.

Jeff Magill, no address listed on the report, reported at 6:31 p.m. Wednesday he had gone to his father's home on Bell School Road, Lisbon, earlier in the day and found the power disconnected, a bedroom window broken and both the furnace and a condenser unit missing from the home. A water softener was cut away from the pipes, but not taken.

Connie Datillio, state Route 344, Columbiana, reported at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday sometime since Friday someone has taken a quarter tank of gas from the tanks of three different vehicles parked in her driveway.

A Canal Road, East Rochester woman reported at 2 a.m. Friday someone entered her home while she was away and threw letters around the kitchen and living room and took some blank checks. She also reported her dog was missing but it later returned.

A Sunset Drive, Wellsville, woman reported at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday her mother came home drunk and was yelling about her boyfriend being there. The woman said her mother doesn't like the man because he is black. A deputy told her mother that she could not throw the man out because her daughter had asked him to be there.
