McLain Circle
EAST LIVERPOOL - The McLain Circle of the Grace Presbyterian Church met at the home of Leah Bosco.
The Bible study was "Greatly Honored are Those Who are Famished and Parched for Justice" from the Horizon study book.
Jean Young had the Mission Yearbook of Prayer report. She told of evangelism and feeding the homeless.
The Mission study was given by Jane Rose. She read an article from OMS Outreach about Russian orphanages. They are called "Rainbow of Hope".
The Fellowship of the Least Coin was given by Leah Bosco. Her article was "For One of the Least of these Followers". It told of the exploitation of street children in India.
Phyllis Conley read a letter from Youth with a Purpose. This is a boys home located in Salineville and they sent a list of the things that are needed at the home.
The next meeting will be at Adrian's Restaurant in November.
EL?Area Seniors
EAST LIVERPOOL - On Oct 4th. a meeting of The East Liverpool Area Seniors was held. President Ruth Wynn brought the meeting to order by asking for a moment of silent prayer for Mae G. Tilton Varian an active long time member that passed away Oct. 2nd. President Wynn read a tribute to her 90 years of life. A monetary contribution will be sent to "Hospice of The Valley" in her honor. Gail Grimm read scripture and members recited The Lord's Prayer, salute to the flag, and the singing of America. The meeting continued with the roll call of officers and the reading of the minutes of the meeting of Sept. 27th. by Secretary JoAnn Fickes. The treasurers report was made by Gail Grimm and reported no new bills submitted this week.
A beautiful bouquet of apricot flowers was won by Kay Drago, and she was escorted around the room by Trustee Lester Brock while everyone sang " Oh You Beautiful Doll". The lucky recipient of the 50/50 today was Ralph Samberson. Virginia Elsman celebrated her birthday this week, and everyone sang "Everybody Has A Birthday".
Club Supervisor Harriet Slagle asked everyone to attend the last card party of the year on Oct. 15th. at noon. We still need prizes and bingo players.
Next meeting will be Oct. 11 Bringing us into story time, Vice President June Mullen related a very true story of our life. Sandy Brock and our President told some funny stories. Bringing us to a close the motions was made by Mullen and Slagle. The meeting ended with "the Evening Prayer and the closing prayer was made by Grimm.
