Wilfred Burnip
SALINEVILLE - Wilfred J. Burnip, 89, of West Main Street, Salineville, died late Wednesday evening at the Carroll Healthcare Center in Carrollton, Ohio.
Mr. Burnip was born in Salineville, Feb. 2, 1923 a son of the late Thomas and Annie Lindner Burnip
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II in the China, Burma, India theatre. He retired as a mail carrier at the Salineville Post Office. He was a member of the Salineville Church of Christ.
Mr. Burnip is survived by his wife, Marjorie Johnson Burnip; one son, Thomas J. Burnip of Salineville; one daughter, Cynthia O. Burnip of Salineville; one sister, Jean Saxton of Rayland, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 9, at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home with Fred O. May and Wayne Kaser officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery with full military honors accorded.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
