30 + 30 Seniors

EAST LIVERPOOL - The 30 + 30 Seniors met Sept. 25 with 16 members and one guest, sister of member, Helen Stauffer, in attendance.

Dee Sullivan was honored as a new member after being a guest for the two previous meetings. Gail Grimm read scripture from John Chapter 12, to open the meeting, and Pres. Hupp continued to lead the group in the Lord's Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and one verse of America.

Recording Secretary, Jo Jordan, made the Roll Call of Officers and read the minutes from the last meeting. She was followed by Treasurer, Jean Tomlison, who reported our income and disbursements from the meeting of Sept. 18, and the present balance in the checking account. Both reports were accepted.

Pres. Hupp read the sick list and the prayer for the sick. All members said a silent prayer for former member, John Casagrande, who passed away, and one for Dale Valentine who is having trouble walking.

Dorothy Poole told an unfortunate, but humorous experience which she and her family had on a vacation this summer.

They had some problems with elevators while staying on the eleventh floor, and were unable to refrigerate the perishable foods they purchased due to the inoperable elevator. But due to some help from the management, all turned out well after some chaotic hours spent by Dorothy and her family.

Minnie Zubay read a beautiful and inspirational story about a person having a conversation with a butterfly as they compared the differences in their creations and their lifestyles.

Dale Valentine won the 50/50 drawing. Ruth Wynn and Dale closed the meeting.

Pizza will be served for next week's meeting Oct. 2.

The usual closing of the business meeting was held which is singing The Evening Prayer, and reciting The Hail Mary, and the Table Blessing.

Lunch, bingo and cards followed.
