John Reckner
CHESTER- John W. Reckner, 65, of Chester, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at his home.
His parents were the late William J. and Jimmie Lee Gilkinson Reckner, and he was born in East Liverpool on Feb. 20, 1947.
A US Marines Corps veteran, Reckner did two tours of duty in Vietnam, serving as a Sargent.
A Methodist by faith, he graduated from South Side High School in 1965. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Standard Lafarge, Georgetown.
Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Williams of Georgetown; two sons, Ken Reckner of Chester, and John D. Reckner of Monaca; one brother, William R. Reckner of Minerva; two sisters, Betty Lou Pease of East Liverpool, and Alvera Haigh of Clinton, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Arner Funeral Chapel.
Pastor Willard Chuck Adkins will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown, with military honors by the US Marine Corps and the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group.
