Point Pleasant Ladies Aide

CHESTER - The Point Pleasant Ladies Aide met on Sept. 12 at the Point Pleasant Methodist Church on Wylie Ridge with Carolyn Allison calling the meeting to order.

President Carolyn Allison lit the memory candle in remembrance of those unable to attend due to illness, travel, or other obligations.

Devotions were given by Luanne Huff with a focus on making a difference in someone's life. She read the new "Footprints in the Sand" and the "Starfish Story" to emphasize the theme. This was followed by a prayer and refreshments that were enjoyed by the members. The tables were delightfully decorated with items from the sea to carry out the Footprints theme: shells, sand items, a net, paper footprints, bottles and colored glass.

The minutes were read by Linda Marsh, and the financial report and thank you cards were read by Kathleen McDonald. The Sunshine Fund was collected.

Discussion and final plans were made as the members prepared to display baskets and containers for both the Hancock County Oldtime Fair and the River Fest Fair. A work schedule for the fairs was signed by the members.

A motion was made to make a donation to the Wounded Warriors, two members that are classroom teachers and to contribute toward travel expenses for a local family.

The members voted to reduce the price of the Hancock County Afghans to $25 each. These will be available at the local fairs. The group made a memorial policy for the death of a member, spouse, and their children.

"God Be With You Till We Meet Again" was sung by the members to close the meeting.

The hostesses for the evening were Mary Dolan, Linda McNeil and Loranna Tate.

The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 10th at the Point Pleasant Methodist Church on Wylie Ridge.
