Dear Editor:
John Raese, a candidate for US Senator in West Virginia, Raese is staunch pro-life conservative and the solutions he has to offer can do much to turn this nation around. A successful businessman with interests in limestone, steel, broadcasting, and tourism, Raese offers West Virginians hope for a brighter economic future, in contrast to Obama's picking marketplace winners and losers such as Solyndra.
Raese's energy policy emphasizes clean coal, natural gas and oil. Coal without the compromising strings attached by the Manchin/Obama axis that has resulted in the closure of over ninety WV mines during Obama's tenure in office.
Raese would unequivocally vote for a balanced budget amendment. Joe Manchin pulled a John Kerry act, voting against a balanced budget amendment sponsored by Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and then voting for an alternate version sponsored by Morris Udall, D-Colo, knowing up front the Udall amendment was doomed to fail. Joe's chums put plenty of salve on this one to make him look good with folks back home.
One can expect strong opposition from Raese to the financial profligacy that in the past four years of Obama's failed presidency has amounted to $5 trillion of increased debt. On Obamacare, Raese has emphatically declared to vote for its repeal before this insidious legislation takes full effect.
On immigration, Raese believes that those desiring US citizenship, regardless of where they are from, must proceed through proper channels in order to obtain legal status. Manchin has repeatedly refused to take a clear stand on the festering illegal issue.
Who will the tight-lipped Manchin vote for as president? My bet is that he'll vote for Obama despite his studious attempts to avoid him, such as staying away from the Dem's national convention. Let Joe's record speak for itself: he has voted nearly 90 percent of the time with Barack Obama. It is ridiculous for him to avoid his support of Obama.
Raese above all appreciates West Virginia values and has a keen sense of what to do to restore our country to sanity, now polarized as seldom seen before. If you like me are sick and tired of duplicitous, double talking politicians and are seeking clarity of vision and strength, vote for John Raese.
A vote for Manchin is giving support to Obama. Send a clear message to D.C. Elect John Raese this November.
