CHESTER - Helen A. Wycoff, 98, of Chester, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012.
Born Oct. 18, 1913, in Newell, she was a daughter of the late James and Viola (Bennett) DeBee.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, George (Virgil) Wycoff, and six brothers and four sisters.
Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chester and the Eastern Stars; she loved knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking and was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn McDevitt of Chester; two grandchildren, Vicki (Gary) Wedgewood and Greg McDevitt; four great-grandchildren, Ed (Christine) Wedgewood, Deanna (Greg) Bellville, Kaitlyn McDevitt and Faith McDevitt; a brother, Eddie DeBee of Chester; and a sister-in-law, Kathryn DeBee of Chester.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, Sept. 20, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, where funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Philip Dukes will officiate. Burial will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Chester.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Chester, roof fund.
