NEW MANCHESTER - Donald L. "Donnie" Jacobs, 59, of Ohio Street, died at 1:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Weirton Medical Center following a heart attack.
He was born July 2, 1953, in East Liverpool, a son of the late James and Betty Jacobs. A 1971 graduate of Oak Glen High School, he at one time worked at Dravo Sand & Gravel, and he was very active in his membership at the First Christian Church of Chester.
He is survived at home by his wife, Darlene Howard Jacobs; and his two daughters, Sarah Jacobs and Serena Jacobs; and his granddaughter, Alexis Lynn Bottoms.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Jacobs; a son, Dell Jacobs; and a brother-in-law, Carl "Skip" Howard.
Also surviving are a brother, James A. Jacobs and his wife, Diane "Shelly," of W. Alexander, Pa.; as well as two nieces, Nikki Little, and her husband Alex, and Abela Avila, and her husband Henry and their two daughters Gabriella and Rayven; and his four nephews, Blayne, Bryce, Travis and Randall Jacobs.
There are two brothers-in-law, Robert "Buck" Howard, and his wife Cheryl, of Glenmoor, and Carl "Bogie" Howard, and his wife Deanna, of Lancaster, Calif.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial is to be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
