William H. "Bill" McCall, 82
NEWELL-William H. "Bill" McCall 82 of Newell Heights in Newell passed away on Friday evening at East Liverpool City Hospital after residing for the past year at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester.
Born on March 12, 1930 in St. Clair Township, Bill was a son of the late Neal H. McCall and Ann V. Hoppel McCall.

Bill will also be remembered as a fervent husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor. When not taking care of what looked like the biggest garden in the world, he could be found hunting or fishing, a passion which he passed on to his children.
A member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, he served many years as the captain of the Dravo Dredge #16 in the Ohio River.
Bill graduated from the former wells High in Newell in 1948 and was a veteran of the US Navy, belonging to American Legion Post 114 in Newell.
He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Theresa Zablocki McCall, three sons, Bill (Beverly) and Kenny (Cindy) McCall of Newell and Jim (Betty) McCall of Chester, one brother, Ron McCall of Steubenville, one sister, Lois (Bill) Humphries of Lisbon, and grandchildren, Corrie McCall, James & Jennifer McCall, Miranda (Jack) Hoit, Emily (Frankie) Allison, and Elizabeth (Daniel Shaw) McCall. There are five great grandchildren as well and another expected soon.
Bill was preceded in death by one sister, Jeannette Mercer.
Rev. Father Eric Antwi will preside for a Liturgy of the Word service on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where the family will receive friends Monday afternoon and evening from 12 to 8 p.m. Interment will follow the Tuesday services at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell where the Navy Honor Guard and the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors.
