Frank Bernard Shone, 88

NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. - Frank Bernard Shone, 88, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 9, 2012, at his residence in North Palm Beach, Fla. Born in East Liverpool on Sept. 11, 1924, the son of the late Frank and Bertha Riedel Shone, he was graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1942, prior to serving with the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater during WWII.

He was a long-time member of the East Liverpool Fire Department and a Master Carpenter, having moved to Florida in 1972. He retired from Pratt Whitney there in 1988.

A member of St. John Lutheran Church when residing in East Liverpool, he was also a dedicated Mason belonging to Riddle Lodge No. 315, F&AM, and the York Rite. In addition, he was a charter member of the Amara Shrine in Palm Beach Garden, Fla.

His wife, Dorothy Welker Shone died Oct. 16, 2004, and a daughter Suzanne Shone passed away on Jan. 17, 2012.

His family includes a son Mark V. Shone and his wife, Danielle of Jupiter, Fla., along with a grandson Jason Shone.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Dawson Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric M. Edwards of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. A joint committal service will follow at Riverview Cemetery for Mr. Shone and his daughter, Suzanne.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18. There will be a reception at St. John Lutheran Church on Hill Blvd. following the cemetery committal service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Frank B. Shone to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 12502 USF Pine Drive. Tampa, FL 33612-9411
