Richard M. “Dick” Blaner, 75

EAST LIVERPOOL- Richard M. "Dick" Blaner, 75, of East Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.

A son of the late Richard P. and Sara J. Armshaw Blaner, he was born on June 19, 1937, in Stratton, Ohio.

Dick retired from the Timet Corporation in Toronto after 35 years, last working as a lab tech.

He had been a member of the former Anderson United Methodist Church in East Liverpool and was a graduate of Wellsville High School.

A veteran of the US Marine Corps, Dick was a member of the Wellsville Masonic Lodge No. 180, a member of the 32 degree Scottish rite in Steubenville and an avid fan of local high school sports.

One sister, Linda Burk, preceded him in death.

Always extremely devoted to his family, Dick leaves his loving wife, Judith Prince Blaner; two sons, Mike (Rachel) Blaner of East Liverpool and their children, Anna and Emily Blaner, son Doug (Laura) Blaner of East Liverpool and their children, Amanda and Douglas Blaner. One brother, Kent Bell and his wife Kelly, also survives.

Per Dick's request no services will be observed and he will be interred in Columbiana County Memorial Park. The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester has been entrusted with his care.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's name to the K-9 fund in care of the City of East Liverpool Patrolman's Association, 126 W. Sixth St., East Liverpool, OH. 43920.
