Robert E. Davis Sr., 79
ROCHESTER, Pa. - Robert E. Davis Sr., 79, of Rochester, Pa., formerly of Wellsville, passed away Friday, Aug. 31. 2012, in Rochester Manor.
Born July 30, 1933, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late George R. and Freda Elliott Davis, he was a retired painter with the Painters Local Union 530, New Brighton, and was a former employee of the seamless department of J&L Steel, Aliquippa Works. He was Christian by faith. He was a member of the Rochester VFW Post 128, a former member of the Rochester Boro Volunteer Fire Department, a former Little League manager, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are his former wife, Beverly A. Davis of Rochester; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karleen A. Hebert, and her companion Ed Enigson, of Raccoon Township, and Kathleen L. and Steve Kyriakopoulos of Lansing,Mich.; two sons and daughters-in-law, William K. and Tammi Davis of New Brighton and Dean A. and Amy Davis of Crafton, Pa.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Cashdollar of Brighton Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. "Tree" Davis Jr., in 1986; a granddaughter, Natalie R. Davis, in 1979; a brother and sister-in-law, Francis "Muttsy" and Rilla Davis; and a sister, Barb Robinson.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Rochester VFW, 179 Virginia Ave., Rochester, Pa. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Daughtery Twp.
The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, 628 Virginia Ave., Rochester, Pa. 15074.
