SAVANNAH, Ga. - Mr. Donald Eugene Pickering, 76, formerly of East Liverpool, died Sept. 6, 2012, at the Hospice Savannah after a long illness.
Donald was a 1953 graduate of East Liverpool High School and served in the United States Air Force Band as a drummer. He was a Prudential Insurance agent for many years and last worked at the East Liverpool Cancer Center.
He is survived by Mrs. Joyce Ann (Ridge) Pickering; a son, Mark W. Pickering (Jackie) of Savannah, Ga.; and a daughter Gretchen Pickering Hemmings (Bobby) of Richmond Hill, Ga. He had four grandchildren, Haley and Michael Pickering and Dalton and Emily Hemmings.
Donald had a brother, Robert Pickering, deceased, a brother, John Pickering of Wellsville, a sister, Norma Ward of East Liverpool and a sister, Judy Talbot of Columbiana.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m.. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made to the music program at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
