Zachary P. Tompkins, 18, Maple Drive, East Liverpool, was southbound on Bell School Road in St. Clair Township at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 28 when a tire rod broke and he went off the right side and struck an embankment and stopped in a corn field.
Casey L. Folds, 19, Franklin Avenue, Salem, was eastbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 6:51 p.m. Aug. 31 and failed to control and went off the right side and struck an embankment. Folds was cited for failure to control.
Douglas V. Cain, 30, Arrow Road NW, Carrollton, was westbound on state Route 172 in West Township at 5:20 p.m. Saturday and failed to maintain control and went off the left side and struck a mailbox and a tree. He was cited for failure to control.
Travis J. Blakeman, 31, Walnut Street, Leetonia, was eastbound on state Route 14 in Fairfield Township at 8:05 a.m. Thursday when Matthew A. Griffith, 28, East State Street, Salem, pulled from a stop sign on Beeson Mill Road and was struck by Blakeman. After impact, the pickup driven by Blakeman, along with the trailer he was pulling, went off the left side of the road and over an embankment. No injuries were reported. Griffith was cited failure to yield.
James E. Denman, 50, Watson Road, Kensington, was cited with driving without reasonable control on Monday after he was northbound on Lowmiller Road in West Township driving a dump truck and went off the left side of the road, striking a utility pole and causing both that pole and the two next to it to snap in half. He then left the scene and later reportedly told troopers he thought he had only struck a tree so he did not report the accident.
