Jesse Smith, state Route 39, Salineville, reported at 11:14 a.m. Monday his sister threatened to beat up his girlfriend on her Facebook page and has sent threatening text messages to her also. He was concerned about his sister, who is coming to visit relatives in Ohio in early September, possibly coming to his home to cause problems.
Esther Lower, state Route 170, Middleton Township, reported at 1:34 p.m. Monday she was concerned her neighbor was cutting down trees in her yard. Deputies spoke to the neighbor, who was cutting down trees in his own front yard and had trimmed some branches from the treeline bordering the property. Lower was fine with the trimming, she just did not want the trees cut down.
Two people were reported at Y and O Auto Salvage taking sheet metal fencing from the lot at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday. Jeff Gatrell, owner of the business, told deputies he was driving by and saw a pickup backed into the gate area with two men tearing down the fencing and loading it into the back of the vehicle. He confronted them and called the sheriff's department. Douglas E. Gill, 31, Duke Road, East Liverpool, and Timothy Wamsley Jr., 29, Etruria Street, East Liverpool, both were charged with criminal trespassing.
Tom Kerner, Fink Road, Summitville, reported at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday someone stole a well pump and wiring from the well on his property. His son lived there and sold the trailer. A backhoe was parked right at the pump prior to the theft. The well is at least 200 feet deep and he believes it would take several people or equipment to pull it out of the ground.
Ruth Weaver, Lisbon Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday her fiance had been drinking and became irate with other family members, attempting to argue with everyone. By the time deputies arrived at 1:08 a.m., the fiance was sleeping and there was no problem.
Sarah Vanellen, state Route 45, Salem, reported at 12:17 a.m. Wednesday her girlfriend's uncle locked up the garage where some of their clothes and property were located. The uncle, J.R. Cassinger, said the two attempted to remove pins from the door hinges to get into where their clothes were located. No one reported threats or physical harm to each other.
Connie Griffith, 88, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, reported at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday she is unable to care for herself and her son is not feeding her or bathing her. Deputies spoke to her family living next door, who said Griffith is able to feed and bath herself, but has dementia.
Several residents on Sell Road reported a neighbor shooting what sounded like an automatic weapon in the area at 5:29 p.m. Tuesday. The owner of the AR15 said he was shooting at his gun range on his own property. Deputies checked the area and found it to be a safe shooting area.
