Columbiana County Sheriff Reports 7-11

Jessica A. Hagan, Ridge Road, Minerva, reported at 4:39 a.m. Sunday she had walked home from Minerva after her boyfriend refused to give her a ride. They argued when she came home and he told her if he was going to jail he was going to make it worthwhile, then hit her on her temple. She fell backward and began to kick at him to keep him away from her. She dialed 911 and he left, but sent her text messages calling her names and swearing at her. The boyfriend, Michael Dillon, has a previous charge of domestic violence still pending in the court system. A warrant in this case was issued.

Rich Wilk, Crestview Road, Columbiana, reported at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday an ongoing problem with his daughter's ex-boyfriend. On Monday the 16-year-old reportedly left a love letter to his daughter in the mailbox. Additional reports have been filed about the boy stalking the girl over the past two weeks and standing across the street from a party she was attending on July 4, calling her obscene names.

Marines recruiter Ben Andre, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 10:19 a.m. Monday his vehicle was damaged by a dog while he was driving on Kettering Road visiting a recruit. The neighbor had the dog tied out with a chain reaching past the edge of the roadway. He was unable to maneuver past the dog, which jumped on his vehicle twice, scratching it.

Vincent Gromley, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 4:37 a.m. Tuesday sometime between 5:30 p.m. Monday and then someone entered his home through a back window and took numerous items.

Tony Hilton, Bacon Avenue, East Palestine, reported at 10:11 p.m. Monday he believes he is being harassed by the owner of DP Fuels after an employee of the store told him the owner hung up a photo of Hilton's mugshot noting he was a sex offender.

Emma Foltz, Salem Alliance Road, Damascus, reported at 9:57 p.m. Monday a neighbor in the trailer park has been accusing her of placing poison around her trailer to kill the animals. Foltz said she is placing Critter Ritter around the trailer to keep raccoons and cats from getting into her garbage.

Lorene Thomas, Bowman Road, Homeworth, reported at 8:09 p.m. Monday on two separate occasions a white Jeep and a red Ford pickup have stopped near the driveway next to her home. Then men get out of the vehicles and shoot into the field.

Jim Relay Jr., state Route 154, Lisbon, reported at 6:23 p.m. Monday he is in the process of renovating a vacant home and someone went inside and stole his power tools.

A woman reported at 3:33 p.m. Monday her mother had called her and said a woman had been thrown from a vehicle in front of her mother's house. The woman was with her mother and the man driving the vehicle had left. Deputies spoke to the woman, Heather Sanders, who said she was not thrown from the vehicle, but forced to get out. Her phone was thrown at her. She claimed she was not assaulted. Her mother was contacted.

Shirley Reefer, state Route 154, Negley, reported at 5:50 p.m. Monday she and her husband are being harassed by the landlord, who reportedly sent text messages to the husband while he was at work. Deputies spoke to the landlord, who claimed she was only texting the husband to try to set up a time she could go inside the rental house.

A neighbor called deputies to a Boatyard Road home at 8:43 p.m. Monday for a possible domestic dispute. Deputies found parents were scolding their 16-year-old daughter for stealing at the mall earlier, which had cost them $300.

Anthony German, Ridge Road, East Rochester, reported at 5:38 p.m. Monday someone may have cut a hole in the liner of his swimming pole. Deputies spoke to a neighbor, who denied touching German's property.
