Two people were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals following a motorcycle crash on Dresden Avenue Sunday night. According to police, Terry Vennum, 48, Dodge Street, was southbound when he lost control of his motorcycle on a series of 'S' bends. The motorcycle went off the right side and went down on its side. Vennum was taken by Lifeteam ambulance to the nearby Walmart parking lot, where he was flown by Air Evac helicopter to Allegheny General. His passenger, Amy Corak, 32, Yeager Drive, was taken by Tri-County ambulance to East Liverpool City Hospital, from where she was later flown by Stat MedEvac to UPMC. Police said the accident remains under investigation.
Thomas E. Mackey Jr., 8th Avenue, LaCroft, was charged with failure to comply while township officers were assisting Liverpool Township police on a traffic stop and he reportedly failed to stop when ordered to do so as the K-9 officer was conducting a vehicle search. An officer followed Mackey's vehicle to Westfield Road, where he was stopped and cited.
Joseph A. Dorsey, 30, Erie Street, and Abby J. Atwood, 24, Elson Street, were both charged with theft after Walmart employees reported they selected items from throughout the store, placed them in a large garbage can and then purchased other items, failing to pay for the items inside the can.
