East Liverpool defeats Columbiana, 8-6

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool Pony League 14-year-old baseball team defeated Columbiana, 8-6, Tuesday. East Liverpool is now 3-4 on the season. Tyler Cunningham picked up the win for East Liverpool. Miek Oats came on in relief. Offensively, Oats tallied three singles, Aaron Bombich belted two singles and Shane Talbott and Cunning each collected a base hit. East Liverpool plays today against Jackson-Milton.

BL girls basketball boosters meeting today

CALCUTTA -?There will be a Beaver Local girls basketball boosters meeting in the high school cafeteria today at 7:30 p.m.

Senior Men's League at Tri-State Lanes

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Senior Mens League will have informal bowling for any senior male throughout the summer on Mondays and Tuesdays at Tri-State Lanes at 1 p.m. Three games are bowled for fun and fellowship. Chester-Newell Ohio River catfish tourney

CHESTER - The Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club will be holding their annual Ohio River Catfish Tournaments beginning from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. Remaining dates include:?June 16, July 14 and Aug. 18. Open to the public. Entry fee is $10 per fisherman. Sign up at Chaney's Sunoco station in Chester or call 304-387-3982.

BLHS Hall of fame dinner being held in June

CALCUTTA - The Beaver Local High School Alumni Association will hold its inaugural Hall of Fame dinner 6-9 p.m. June 2 at the high school. The Alumni Association will induct two alumni into the Hall of Fame this year, and will also be honoring the classes of 1962 and 1987. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each at Campbell Sign, Lifeteam EMS, Ambrosia Photography, Beaver Local high and middle schools, the Board of Education offices or from any alumni board member. Tri-State Tennis traveling team league

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Tri-State Tennis Association is organizing a traveling Team Tennnis League for this summer. It is scheduled to begin mid-June.
